If there’s one thing I learned 20+ years ago, it’s that the people in and around these bands are from completely different planets than we are. But I suppose that’s what makes them so interesting.

I talked to Pete a bit more. He’s excited to see everyone and to get back on here and chat. He wants to get together and jam with anyone that can at any of the stops.

He said that they had recorded some songs and done those few shows, and that was the last he heard from anyone about porno. He thought it was scrapped with Perry focused on Janes again. He said the management team called him the night before last to tell him they were going on tour. Said he literally knows nothing else about the tour yet. Saw the tour graphic when the rest of us did and reposted it.

He was also telling me also that Mike Watt calls him every single morning at 5:45 AM to talk about jazz music and has for years. He said it doesn’t matter what day it is and it’s always without fail. I thought that was pretty funny. Probably two of the most decent people that have been associated with these bands.

I met Pete a few times when he was gigging in So Cal after Porno ended. A place called BeachFire. He was so nice! Always gave his time and chatted to my wife and I after the gigs. He would always remember how the previous conversation ended and would pick it right back up again. Was super cool and intimate. No joke - probably a 25 person crowd on average, but he always played with heart and seemed to enjoy it. Glad he finally got the “call” - I think he’s been waiting for it for 30 years
