Dave probably hates those of us that trolled the Panic Channel site lol. And there's probably animosity towards the Eric tell all still lol.

I bet Eric wishes he never did that Sonny interview.

Taking the high road was never practiced by this band and co, by nature messageboard folks arent high road people either. So doing things like cancelling shows with no real explanations isnt going to stop the shit talking

There is still more reasons to dislike this band then to support them.

Gotta live in the moment with these guys, so tickets for Porno and Janes should be bought at the venue THE DAY OF THE SHOW. They arent worth getting excited about because they will more times then not... let you down.

Etty still looks good tho...

"Can you BELIEVE that message board criticizes our past terrible decisions? Don't interact with them, they'll just have more to say about our current bad decisions" :eyes:

Meanwhile other bands are like "Shit, sorry that record pressing sounded so bad. We've seen the fan reaction and we're not happy either. We're having it re-done and you'll all get a new copy. We want to make it right."

It's just so easy to make fans happy. Listen and respond professionally. Then you get mature engagement. There is a literal road map for this that everyone else is doing.

The Rolling Stones, 50 years into their career, are getting their song played on Sunday morning football games. They promote the album release date. They promote the tour. We know everything.

Perry promised 3 albums worth of songs were written a decade ago and we're getting a 3 song EP from either Jane's or PFP (who knows which) maybe possibly sometime by 2030 after their tour of Iowa, Nebraska, and 5 global Lollapaloozas. :noclue:

If they were smart, they really would have some of us consulting. That may seem crazy (fans dictating band decisions), but when you have a small group of old school, die hard fans, why not at least survey them?

However, the internet fan base for these bands seems to be looked down upon by everyone except Pete, unless you were one of the JA.org sycophants. In fact, I know there have been directives given to not interact with us. Over the years and even recently.

There are a lot of people that don’t like hearing the truth, or at worst, honest feedback. Gotta keep the bubble intact.
I disagree, Hoka. Neither the sycophants at the other site nor this one could really help steer or inform the Jane's/Porno camp in any meaningful way. Survey us and Perry would be told to screen print the Three Days poem on the back of the next tour shirt.

That said, for someone like Perry who has managed to make a festival global and a household name (with obvious help), the difference in how Lolla is promoted and managed seems light years ahead of the poor decision making that seems to accompany every move either Porno or Jane's makes. That, for me, is hard to reconcile. I just don't get it.

I have such a huge appreciation for Perry, everything he's achieved in life.

Certainly not the advice I would give. :noclue:

Fortunately, they do seem to be getting some good direction and doing a lot of things right these days. But they’d have been well served taking a page from the Pumpkins/Janes playbook by taking out a band like Dino or Fishbone with them on this tour and playing places like KC instead of Omaha. Odd choice. They really should have had back to back singles out as well. And a video that speaks to the history of the band and their live performance history. This shits not hard. Also, how about a porno release with all of the non album tracks, along with the new stuff?

Dominator
Hard Charger
Tonight
A little sadness
Satellite of love
Agua
Little Me
Pete’s Dad
Fingernail
New Rising Sun

Make your actions speak to your base. The people that are still willing to actively give you money. Not the nostalgia money. And not the “your shit smells like flowers” money. The people that have always been there but won’t bullshit you.

Not that I’m aware of, but I have listened to their performance of it more than a lot of their own songs, so it’s strongly associated for me.

It was obvious from the jump they slapped “farewell” on this tour to move tickets. Perry completely sidestepped the question when asked about this recently too lol.

But really, I don’t begrudge them or feel cynical about it. They gotta do what they gotta do and it gives me the opportunity to see them again, this time with another legendary bass player.

A full LP from Pete, Perry, Steve & Mike would definitely be the most awaited piece of music in my entire life !

This is based on Perry saying “it’s not the end Pete” while crying, right before the phone call for the interview. Pete is incredibly likable. It’s easy to picture Perry feeling emotional and saying it to him.

Definitely not an official announcement of actual future plans.
