Fantastic Stones cover by a Canadian band popular in the late 70s and early 80s.

BRITISH ELECTRIC FOUNDATION f. BOY GEORGE

“I Wanna Be Your Dog”

The nine years that separated the first two volumes of this side project by Heaven 17/Human League founder Martin Ware pales next to the gulf that preceded volume three: 22 years. This track is apparently intended as a “dark interpretation” of The Stooges’ plenty-dark ode to self-loathing (http://bit.ly/xGPBk). That it manages to out-bleak the shouty grind of the original can be chalked up mostly to the decision to talk-sing the lyrics. The results evoke Aussie anomalies Flash and the Pan (http://bit.ly/j4fuC5) and in the process render Boy George all but unrecognizable. (Music of Quality and Distinction Vol. Three), http://bit.ly/10j00wy)

I think the original is waaaaaaay better, but I loved the Blondie version when I was in about first or second grade. I remember checking the vinyl out of the library.

Wow.
London Grammar covers Wicked Game.

Code: Select all

Certainly the London-based group are not the first to cover this song. Indeed, this past year we’ve featured amazing versions by the likes of Parra For Cuva and Widowspeak, each within their own right absolutely amazing renditions.

But this version totally exceeded my expectations for one major reason: it was recorded live at BBC1′s Maida Vale session yesterday. Frankly, the recording is good enough for this to have been mastered in a studio. It’s no wonder they uploaded it to their SoundCloud…

This is stunning. Stick your headphones and crank the volume up.

I think someone posted this before, but it's incredible nonetheless. I don't even like the original song, but this version's chorus send shivers down my spine.

It seems like the AC/DC clip has exploded across the web this weekend, someone on every list I'm on has posted it. Those 2Cello guys cover a lot of classic rock songs. Some work, some not so much. Here's another one that works really well:
