Your favorite "Eric and Handsome Mike" encounters

#1 Post by NYRexall » Wed Aug 28, 2013 9:07 pm

I don't remember exactly how it started, but back on the Dave Navarro board, a bunch of one-percent posters caught wind of myself and a few others trashing the 2001 Jane's shows. So they, in turn, began trashing the DN board on their board. I went over to one-percent and started flaming a bunch of the offenders, and somehow got caught up in an e-mail exchange with Eric. It went back in forth for hours, totally juvenile. At one point he threatened to have a bunch of his "big guns" come over to the DN board and wipe us out. I had a pretty good laugh at that.

I became privy to one-percent's squeaky-clean agenda thru Handsome Mike, which is still the most retarded internet moniker I've ever heard. He and I were arguing about something and he ended one particular retort with "Now, come to Daddy, bitch!" or something along those lines, to which I replied "I bet you've lured plenty of kids into your car with that one..."

Then, predictably, I got banned. :noclue:

Anyone else have any epic encounters with 'The Big Two'? Creep and Hoka usually take my good-natured heckling in stride. Not like those other two goofs.

I just used to sit back and watch on those boards, so I would lurk and laugh.

*"Eric" needs to be edited to Erik.

I'm one of the few who passes freely between the 2 boards. I dork out over uncovering previously unknown 1.0 shows/recordings, so that stuff pulls me in over there. But I'm not gonna force a fake smile when the band is sucking, which is often lately.
I remember Erik being a bit of a douche way, way back when he was "flood" on the Jane's mailing list pre-forums. But he's been pretty cool with me for the past decade or so. And Mike freaks out sometimes, but is a decent guy. Pretty sure Perry pinned the name "Handsome Mike" on him, so don't blame Mike for that one.

I remember the time last year when someone from perryfarrell.net came over here, and there was an argument about the way their board was run vs. how ours is run, and they banned a bunch of us from their board.

I was included in that banishment, even though I have ZERO posts on their board.

Banned with zero posts, that's my encounter with "handsome" Mike.

In person he was very nice to me (Mike) but here he told me I was ok and he would fuck me though he was taken or some shit like that. He was drunk of course.
I've had no bitter experiences with Erik, but to be honest, I like Sonny better.

I thought Sonny was the worst actually! Who cares now I guess. But the whole drama of the site was a bit too much. Seeing him on Skype with Eric Avery though was priceless!

Xiola was very dramatic and emotional, especially Sonny's homepage rants. At least it was passionate though. I was surprised when I saw Sonny in the Eric interviews, he seemed far more chilled-out than I had expected.

ANR.com was cool for a while but it always felt a bit too fanboy-led. Xiola was the one the band looked at and it therefore had more kudos.

This reads like what you did to me over on the Panic Channel board. Only I had about 20 posts before the women there complained about me being a poster from Xiola and apparently for that reason alone, because I never trolled on the Panic Channel board, you banned me

I'm friends with Sonny on fb and he's chilled like that, guess I just know that people go through something while managing these boards. I don't think I could do it myself.
Ok, the moment I shared wasn't my favorite but since everyone was complaining, I thought I would share. Really, in person he was fine.

Were all 20 posts saying shit like "The Panic Channel Sucks! Steve Issacs is an MTV tool! Perry Rules! Satelite Party is way better!"?

Because that is the only shit that got anyone banned (aside from one poster who thought death threats were ok). And that wasn't from me, that came straight from Dave. He didn't want that kind of negative shit going on on something he paid for.

I'm pretty sure I got banned from Panic Channels site too! I also got banned from a NY Jets fan site during the lead up to the Iraq war b/c I was arguing for sanity on a board full of right wing meatheads!

I just said that I didn't troll there, so it wasn't anything like that. I've also gone on record saying that I've not liked anything Perry has done after the first Porno record, so it absolutely wasn't because of him :hehe:

I hate that I even have any memory of this, but how I remember it playing out was like this ... of the 20 or so posts I made at that site, about 15 of them were in the 2 or 3 Banyan threads in that tour section of the board. Also in that section was the different dates that Panic Channel played. I took some of the Panic Circle pics and posts and posted them at Xiola. One post I remember that I copied from there and posted at Xiola was when a woman said she was so afraid to go to a section of town that they were playing that night, that she was going to bring a gun. She wasn't joking either.

It got a good laugh at Xiola and a girl that used to post at both places ( I can't remember her username, but I'd know it if I saw it ) made a complaint on the Panic Channel board. I didn't think much of it, until later on that night I saw that a handful of other women also were upset by it and that you posted in the thread that "you took care of it" or that "I was taken care of". Either way, when I attempted to log in, it said that my account was banned or deactivated.

So I figured that you were the one that did it :thumb:

I did have one girl, I think her name was Melissa sticking up for me there though. So not everyone there was bad

That takes some skill, getting banned on the Panic Channel board.

Sonny was cool in my book. He ran a great fan community for a long time. And he landed that EA interview, which pissed the band off eternally. I see him lurking here sometimes. He should weigh in more often.

I used to lurk ANR and xiola, out of the two, even though you made me laugh a lot, I was kinda scared of you too  re: ANR people
I have to confess that I never had a problem changing boards, actually I was also part of the most despised board.

as for sonny, i think his pride gets in his way of posting here...he said this site would fail...prob hard for him to just be a cog in the machine instead of the one in power...would be cool if he posted more though
