I am so disappointed with this season.
Yeah, I could barely keep my eyes open for the last ep.

I think I'm actually going to miss this piece of shit. I love to hate it. The fact is that the environment and some of the characters are pretty cool, and even some of the stories are OK once in a while. It's just that they usually managed to entirely fuck it up and make it goofy as hell.
True Blood's upcoming seventh season will be its last, HBO announced Tuesday.

"True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO," HBO President Michael Lombardo said in a statement. "Alan Ball took the books by Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast led by the magnificent Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, and crafted a show that has taken its many devoted fans on an unforgettable journey. Alan passed the baton to [showrunner] Brian Buckner, who led our fantastic writers and crew in crafting a spectacular sixth season, and he will lead us through the seventh and final season of this amazing show. Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show."

Get the scoop on True Blood's final season

True Blood's final season will consist of 10 episodes, debuting next summer. Buckner recently told TVGuide.com that Season 7 will "tell a simpler story" that will "return to the show's promise in Season 1" of examining the relationships between humans and vampires.
I wonder how they'll tell a "simpler story" when it left off as an all-out war between infected vampires and humans? Regardless, simpler = better. The show is at its absolute worst when its all over the place.

I was going to ask if anyone would bother. I was out earlier, but I'll probably watch it later or in the next few days. It's mostly middling-to-awful, but I've come this far :noclue: and there's nothing left on TV for me to watch right now. I watch very little TV, but the few things I do watch I like a lot. True Blood is something of an anomaly there, because my opinion of it isn't very high. I just got in the habit after a good first season, and they're at least pretty decent at Louisiana ambiance, if nothing else.

I haven't watched it yet, but if it's Tara dying, I won't be surprised.

Or maybe Sookie getting the gap in her teeth fixed. :lolol:

I watched last night's epsiode and thought it was kind of lame. I will still watch the rest of the series since it is the last.

Unfortunately, Sookie wasn't the one to go. Her speech at the church.. :eyes:

Oh, Pam is in Morocco looking for Eric.

I think I passed out for a sec...but I'm with you, it's the last season. Have seen 6 already, just one more and I don't have to be a masochist anymore!

So Tara has become the Kenny of True Blood.....

Maybe it's just my cynicism, but it seems like every actor on the show doesn't want to be there.

I predict this show will easily surpass Dexter as crummiest final season EVAH!

Something wonderful to me would be seeing Jessica naked :waits:

Since that didn't happen, I didn't find anything about this episode that I liked

I want to pile on the "ugh...I've come this far" opinion. I thought maybe it would be decent since they're ending it, but the premier just seemed to be all over the place and lost my attention. I was fucking around on my phone (probably on here) and only paying half attention after the first 20 minutes. It was just dumb.

I'm grinding it out too.

Panda....yeah. I don't know if this will be worse than Dexter because I don't expect anything from true blood. I think my expectations of Dexter based on the quality of the 1st 4 seasons contributed to the huge letdown. With True Blood the bar is so low I don't think I'll be let down.

"Done some good stuff" is a strange way to say "poisoned everything he's touched".

I'm momentarily lucky in that I held off on ever watching True Detective and House Of Cards until I bought the Blu-ray seasons last week just before my wife got out of the hospital so we'd have something to watch together in the evenings. Watching the first EP of True Blood and then watching a couple episodes of True Detective was like Y2K-Janes opening for Led Zeppelin circa 1974.

I'm kinda going to miss it because I don't think I'm going to have a show I can complain about so much.

As a big Lost fan also I really enjoyed The Leftovers. I hope it's not drawn out over too many seasons, just tell the story. It's based on a book so there must be a beginning and an end.

I was going to hold on and ride out the final True Blood season but I think I'm officially tapping out after last night. I don't even know what's going on, too much going on at once and all of it is dumb.

I gave my wife so much shit about resubbing to HBO after last night's episode. I can't decide if the love scene between Eric and Jason was some sort of gay wish fulfillment thing with the producers, writer and/or director or someone just really wanted to fuck with the actors placing them in that predicament.

Can we change the title of this thread to "The Leftovers"?

it's just so sad how bad the show is now. bad acting...horrible story...etc. the only thing i enjoy about the show now is when jason says something stupid that i find funny like testing the pizza. other than that she show puts be in a bad mood...but i'm still watching. :jasper:

It smacked of terrible fan fiction come to life. I kept waiting for a punchline that never arrived. The closest we got was Jason waking up.

I think there are multiple reasons for it. One thing to remember is that the original actor who played Jessica's boyfriend last year looked for work elsewhere when it turned out that his main arc this season would include a gay relationship with Lafayette. I think this could be a reaction to that. The article that came out with this information called the actor homophobic. Twice. So, if you don't want to partake in soft-core gay porn as a straight man, you are now homophobic.

Whenever someone calls a person ______-phobic, and it doesn't involve something like that person being afraid of spoons, the bullshit alarm goes off loud and clear.

Anyway, the rest of the show was pretty lame. I am watching it on autopilot, and I don't think I'll stop until it's over. Maybe just so I can make sure it's dead.
