Yeh, Dave seems to have completely checked out.CaseyContrarian wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 5:37 pmI’d be shocked if we ever see DN with JA again.Artemis wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 1:35 pmSo, I just had a peek at Dave's Instagram -no activity for 5 weeks. I also checked his fiancee's 's account and saw some photos from yesterday. Looks like she's using. I suppose it could be a tick bite or suspension hole...if she's into that.
Nary a peep about music from DN. I shouldn't assume that no music is happening just because he hasn't posted anything. If something IS happening, a little sample would be cool.

Dave's Return?
Re: Dave's Return?
Re: Dave's Return?
The buzz they built with the tour seems dead now too. It was genuinely exciting again there for a minute.
Re: Dave's Return?
Perpetual disappointment is what this band inspires the best
Re: Dave's Return?
Being a fan of Jane’s and P4P is rough…was much easier when Perry just did BS I could glance at and move on.
The P4P reunion shows and the Jane’s tour had me hoping!
I still have hope, but ugh the cancelling of the P4P tour took wind out of my sails
I’m assuming I’d anything happens it’s next year….Jane’s who knows could be pushed to 2025

Re: Dave's Return?
This hiatus and lost momentum makes me really glad I decided to say fuck it and see them in Vegas earlier this year. That was a really good show with a great setlist. The foolishly optimistic person in me holds out hope we get that last real deal album. Just to scratch the itch in my brain of "What if they made another album?". I still remember sitting at work and seeing that clip of Eric playing bass with Perry and was like oh that must be old, and said wait, that looks like current days and was like HOLY SHIT.
Re: Dave's Return?
I’m getting to the point where I’m just happy they actually played a new song like…2-3 times
That might end up being it…
Shitty YouTube videos of a half formed work in progress

Re: Dave's Return?
I’m happy I saw Eric w/ Janes without the Liberace Perry era.

Re: Dave's Return?
I’m just glad I got to see these four bastards on a stage in 2009. Period.
Re: Dave's Return?
Can't and won't go out like that I hope. Typical Perry though..Jane's with Eric killing it on the Pumpkins tour, good vives, good will, and then silence. starts thinking about other projects. Should have kept that going. Eric's probably like WTF!
Re: Dave's Return?
It sounded like they had a pretty set plan for both bands, so I don’t think it was a surprise for Eric. I’m guessing 2024 was supposed to be all Janes, but they’ve screwed up the Porno relaunch, so we’ll see. Where is the damn new P4P music and new dates?
Re: Dave's Return?
I’m thinking that the most interesting JA related thing that will happen is yesterday, me walking my dog and finding a copy of Tapping the Source, in one of those take one, leave one library boxes. I was actually wearing a JA shirt at the time.
Re: Dave's Return?
I’m starting to think there will only be a handful of anniversary shows, not a tour…maybe 8-12 dates in total. And then an ep release. Maybe 2-4 songs?
Unless it all collapses

This makes the most sense. A lot of the Lollapalooza sites, and 3-4 club shows. I highly doubt new music, no matter what they say.
Re: Dave's Return?
I’ll be shocked if there’s not any new music. I know they’ve already recorded.Juan% wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:46 amDiabolik wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 9:04 amI’m starting to think there will only be a handful of anniversary shows, not a tour…maybe 8-12 dates in total. Re: Dave's Return?
I definitely think we’ll get some music, but I’m prepared for a handful of songs.
I suspect the band doing a tour with NOTHING new was probably a huge mistake/miscalculation. Management probably thought “yall can tour on nostalgia and one new track is all you need!” and then they saw the numbers and panicked.
Cancelling so close to the start date — I’m sure they had a serious meeting that was something like here’s your options:
1 With no new music — this tour is a disaster, there very little
Promotion/excitement, we lose money.
2 With 1-4 new tracks (which I assumed they had) — you can do 10 dates and some festivals, we’ll make okay money
3 With a full album you can do a real tour cycle ( with an additional band to help ) and make good money.
You hope for the best, the band saying they are gonna keep working etc and rebook your is probably pie in the sky.
More likely they figure out what live dates look like when you only have a song or two

Re: Dave's Return?
I don't want to hear anything new from either Jane's Addiction or Porno for Pyros at this point...too many let downs...I don't carry a blue blanket and I'm not getting my hopes up again...officially over all of this
Re: Dave's Return?
My cousin is safe, and yeah I'd bang Etty
Re: Dave's Return?
Jane’s headlining the Bearded Theory festival in England next May…
Re: Dave's Return?
Yea, just saw that too. Nice line-up with Dino too. Busy that weekend seeing King Gizz, but hopefully some other shows around that time. Can’t say I listen to Janes at all now but those last shows def piqued my interest.
Re: Dave's Return?
does this leave time for a p4p tour? they better announce something soon.
since that post...complete silence.Listen up for the new music in the upcoming weeks and keep an eye out for new tour dates.
Re: Dave's Return?
Hopefully it happens still but in early Spring. I hate dead of winter concerts. They should have time to put a bow on Porno and then get back to Janes by Summer.
Re: Dave's Return?
It could mean nothing, but the Bearded Theory website specifically mentions Dave as being in the band.
We are excited to announce the first wave of artists for 2024! The festival will welcome an electrifying selection of artists to the site, including a UK exclusive performance from iconic rock band, Los Angeles quartet Jane’s Addiction. Comprised of enigmatic frontman Perry Farrell, guitar hero Dave Navarro, and powerhouse rhythm section drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery, the band are one of the most influential alternative rock bands of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s and will make Bearded Theory their only UK festival performance of 2024.
