Re: Politics
There's safety in large numbers. The problem is that the Electoral College overrides that.
So, I guess just hope that the Harris campaign strategists played things the right way in the sticks.

Re: Politics
Well, I mean.. let's say she did. Trump probably lost Philly over the puerto rican thing... then again, Trump supporters aren't too inclined to hold him accountable for anything and still support him so idk man.
Re: Politics
There are 4 factors that will determine this election. Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and women...both closeted Republican trump haters and general turnout.
Re: Politics
With the Cheney endorsements, Harris just doubled down on being the 'establishment' candidate, while simultaneously running as an agent of change. All on a platform that previously ran the gamut of pushing defunding the police, opening the border and eliminating ICE to only recently bragging about putting criminals in jail, having the most lethal fighting force in history and pushing to fund Trump's wall and closing the border. There is no evidence or indication of what she would actually follow through on, outside of saying she would not change anything from the Biden administration.
Trump has his own version of bombastic pandering rhetoric thats hard to pin down, but that's always been his brand, he never claims to be clearly stating anything.
The question 'Is Trump a threat to national security and is our whole democracy in peril?' has been framed as the only question on the ballot. If the answer is yes Harris wins. But if independent and non-regular voters are more concerned about inflation, grocery and gas prices, housing costs, interest rates, health care costs and other things that affect them financially, and are turned off by the fear mongering, then I think Trump wins.
Polls seem to be clear that a threat to democracy is lower on swing voters concerns. I guess we will see if that is true, in the short and the long term...

Re: Politics
It all boils down to Pennsylvania. If Harris wins the state, she can lose the other battlegrounds.

No. But this is true:
Trump wins the electoral college if he wins Pennsylvania.

How is it close? I don't ever recall electoral votes being that far apart, even IF red states are being called firstdrwintercreeper wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 7:10 pmIt is going to be a long night. And it is very close.

Re: Politics
It is a race to 270. If Harris wins Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan like she should, then Pennsylvania puts her at 270. If she fucks up any one of those, it’s likely over unless she can pull out a win in NC, GA and/or NV. But the reality is that everything depends on Pennsylvania.
Call it a night when you see Pennsylvania called.

How are we coping?
Re: Politics
is what it is, the people have spoken...I'm surprised people believe his lies...he won't be able to do half what he claims...but after 2016 I learned men had problems with women leaders...I expected a repub to win the next election when Joe won...I expect a dem to win next..
I don't think people were gonna vote for Joe either over "no tax on ot" and other baits being swallowed down...
this is america, this is our system...so it goes
happy for everyone who voted, be heard

Yay, the raving idiot beat the failing upwards lady. This was the best two we had to chose from this election cycle, hahaha. I'm just glad California seems to be waking up and smelling the coffee with kicking LA DA George Gascon to the curb and putting the kibosh on Prop 5 and passing Prop 36. And you can bet the late night talk show drones like Kimmel, Colbert, etc are secretly thanking the Gods that they'll have plenty of Trump material to bitch about for the next 4 years. Let the peaceful demonstrations begin!

This country is fucking invalid
Re: Politics
Well, on the upside maybe there's only four years to go before we're rid of the worst of this shit.
