My step son is on the spectrum, he's non verbal and fidgets around like a maniac.. he's never accidently done anything remotely like that when expressing heartfelt gratitude 😂
I respected him for his scientific integrity but now he's on my shit list. If I didn't have immediate family who support him and defend him to the end, this would have been much easier to deal with but unfortunately it's thrown in my face every time I come around.
Reminds me of the "valley Mexicans" here in TX. They're all for Trump and anti immigrant even though their parents were and might be undocumented themselves. Its a weird self loathing, and they think they're better than "border jumpers" or whatever they call them.

I'm a white male and I feel threatened by what this administration is going to bring out in this country.
That's what i don't get. I'm from Los Angeles, and clearly a massive Hispanic population of hard working immigrants. My cousins were sucked into conservatism because the right wing propaganda/media apparently hit their algorithm. "Charlie kirk and Ben Shapiro owning libtard" videos is what got them to support far right ideologies. They are also very jesus lead and holier than thou.

It's dissapointing because we were close, we grew up together, had our first beers together, rocked to janes together, all that shit. Then they decided to support something that will heavily affect my immediate family. It hits home. it's personal.

The irony is we all grew up listening to left wing bands like rage and creedence all warning us about people like the far right... they didn't listen 😂

Also have to point out that their dad is a landscaper and hires illegals to work with him and they work with their dad....

Also we really dropped the ball on young men. We allowed YouTubers and shitty "comedian" podcasters(you know who mainly) to influence them in such a horrible way. The tech companies just want to keep us engaged, so they feed us controversy and sucked these folks in. Now we have a whole generation of young angry dumb men. It's horrible for society. Just look at any poor dangerous country around the world.

I'm happy to see the states are suing over the birthright EO, some other entity is suing that DOGE is illegal. I haven't looked up all the law suits yet but at least we still have some hope in the courts.

I need to get my YouTube channel monetized, go viral, become DOGE status meme and run for prez in 3 years when in 35.

Well HB's mayor is a pro MAGA guy.

I just saw from the NY Times that the DOJ is going to investigate mayors or Governors that do not play along with the so called criminal round up

I didn't think the anti sanctuary thing would be a thing... my sons elementary school just sent home cards with the 5th amendment directed to immigration officials for people to hand them of they are ever stopped so the detainee doesn't have to speak 😑. They're already training the staff and teachers how to deal with them when they enter schools. Unreal.

The problem here is that Mexico is too close. The Wall serves to separate identity. Mexicans in America from mexicans who live in Mexico. Once you are in US, you are american, not chicano. Assimilation, not integration. This means delete identity and ties with the original motherland. The majority of Americans are of German origin, but they were assimilated and fought two world wars against Germany.
Trump is german (Drumpf, then his grandfather changed his surname, all German surnames they have been anglicised, for example Schneider became Taylor). Between US and Europe there is an ocean and you can't come back, Mexico you can cross Rio Bravo. They will became the largest ethnic and will represent a major change for the US geopolitics in the coming decades.

Trump is a democratic oligarch of New York. New York and Los Angeles, the coasts, pacific and Atlantic, are democratic.
Trump has nothing to do with the Midwest, he hates Midwest, but he is smart enough to embody the demands of the Midwest population, who is the majority by now which is of German origin.

No and he is mulling over cutting Federal funding to any of those cities. Nothing is off limits for ICE agents to raid.

Went at it yesterday with my oldest brother, he has aspergers, clearly son of 1st gen Americans I don't know how he ended up leaning right, let alone that far. He supports trump and keeps insisting trump is misunderstood and isn't deporting the working class immigrants and those with clean records.

I'm honestly worried about this being dragged for another 4 years after trump leaves. Democrats really need a new and strong strategy because the electoral Map looked extremely red in historical blue states. It blue my mind how red california turned.

Start from the feelings of the nations, the aggregation the people, what the average people do, thinks and wants. Not by leaders. . A politician doesn't invent anything, he knows how to recognize and ride the sentiment of a majority.
Leaders come and go. Donald Drumpf didn't invent Midwest, the place where it is decided who wins the elections. Not a coincidence every election dems and republicans always present a candidate for president or vice president from the Midwest. A place that requires assimilation. Ronald O Regan grandfather changed his surname and forgot Ireland. Midwest, and US, need immigrants, to work, to keep population young, and fight wars, but they require assimilation. Because US need to be sure that Latinos in the army must be psychologically ready to fight some war operation against Mexico and kill their relatives that still lives there.

Dems dream America to become a wealthy and advanced civilized country. Good idea. A great big Amsterdam. Fantastic. Priorities are human rights, smoking marijuana, gay marriage, Netflix TV series, global peace. Apologize to the world, cancel history while listening Imminent Redemption and Satellite Party on the radio. Not a bad idea, really. But this is what Midwest really hates and the core of Trump speech.
Midwest/republicans think it can't be done. United States is not a nation like any others. It's the world's largest superpower and did not reach this position and get to where they it is now with hugs, smiles, flowers and laughter. US has been involved in 121 military conflicts since its creation create global order, a country like this cannot really believe it can retreat without consequences. US can't just say "goodbye everyone and thank you, forget the past now leave me alone I'm going to rest and enjoy TV series in my rocking chair".
Because other countries can't let them sleep quiet in their home...

I understand. But the notion that the best defense is more offense can only take you so far. Eventually someone will outpower you, there's always someone better. US literally needs to start figuring out a way to retreat. Doesn't mean we have to hug it out. But pulling away from nato and pissing off neighboring countries isn't the answer. America can't be a bully, no one likes bullies, look at how fast mexico, Canada, Greenland and panama shut that shit down. Find common interest with your neighbors, not reason to wanna invade and assert... whatever tf trump wants to assert.

Trump says, Trump wants... Trump and Musk are business man who care about money and not much else.
American president alone can't decide anything, cannot order to invade other countries, he does not have these powers, he need Congress approval. Trump got impeached already 2 times from Congress.

Trump's electorate (not Trump) has no sympathy for Canada policies. Midwest sees Canada as a great cold California. Immigrants, drugs and climate change, you know. So they wants to put tariffs. To avoid them, little more than a joke, Trump asks Canada why you dont join us and become the 51st state. That's just a joke.

Greenland is more serious. Empty huge island with great resources and only 50,000 ppl living in.. Occupied by US after WW2. US tried to buy it from Denmark many times, after the Second World War until Trump 2019. Nothing new, USA bought big part of his territory, Louisiana, Alaska, Florida, and so on. Chinese are interested too and trying moving in.

Panama. Canal is very important, was the built and owned by US until 1999.. Panama government allowed enter China now control two ports and a bridge. Too much for US. Because China control of the seas means control of trade and globalization.

Nations are not just different than people. Nations are made up of people. People are nice and try to get along but world is full of conflicts between people and nation because different interests... :tiphat:

Saw an article that says native Americans might not be protected legally because of some tribes' sovereignty treaties. Not sure what that means for them. Loss of voting rights?
