Just about shat myself when I learned Hum had surprise-released their first album since 1998. It's called Inlet, and thankfully it's really good, not one of those comeback albums that shits on the band's legacy. Trudging alt nerd rock guitar onslaught at its best.
This new Hum record is jaw dropping good. I honestly feel like it's a masterpiece in it's genre. Loud, fuzzy and chugging guitars, with otherworldly lyrics. I can't stop listening to it.

Just saw you beat me to this. What a fucking album.
I sat at the ocean last week getting drunk and listening to this on repeat. Absolute zen.
A friend turned me onto Nnamdi, a Chicago musician. Absolutely insane range of sounds and the guy is clearly a multi-instrumental genius.
This album is inspired by the Looney Tunes soundtrack guy. I saw it described as a the Space Jam soundtrack if Dennis Rodman had been the star and not MJ.
And then he's got another EP that's wildly different. Songs are all about police brutality and racial justice and the music has moments of punk/emo/hardcore/Primus. Can't stop listening to it.
