Better than I remember, and maybe a little healing after all the JA BS...

Ah I love this track… there are elements of mystery & dynamism in Eric’s music that were always missing in newer incarnations of Jane’s.

I like how layered their sound is… Interesting to see how they do it live- never seen video of PB before.
Thank you for sharing!

Great song. I’ve been listening to a lot of Decon and OHM lately. And like I did back in the day, I can’t help but pick out all of the parts that “should/could have been Janes songs.”

It’s weird. Those albums were always “the later years.” The albums that came after the nostalgia period. And now revisiting them, I’m nostalgic for when those came out.

I really do love Polar Bear material. Its very much its own thing and just honest. Grooved. Sometimes funky, sometimes rocking. Kind of mysterious music.

As like a treat for sad Jane’s fans, I just now uploaded a “new” Polar Bear video on YouTube: Spaceland ‘99. My original audio of this show has been available on my fansite for a long time, but this video hasn't circulated much. It was their penultimate show, splitting the following month. And I don’t think the final show was filmed, so this might be the “last known footage” of the band.

I always kind of forget how much I like PB and Help Wanted. I think one of the guitar players in Polar Bear contributed to Help Wanted as well and it was pretty cool.

Great post thank you _/\_

Just the first bit of video projection says all you need to know about the difference between EA and PF as far as any artistic integrity goes.

EA: Use an image that makes you ask a question.

PF: Use an image that gives him an erection

One piece of Polar Bear lore I find interesting is that Perry went to one of their shows. I think Banyan opened too.

https://janesaddiction.org/gallery/arti ... mber-1997/
This past May, nearly six years since he and Avery last spoke, Farrell dropped in on a Polar bear show in Los Angeles. He and Avery talked about old times and agreed to meet again over lunch. For all intents and purposes, the meeting ended before it began. “I had a totally personal agenda,” Avery insists. “I figured I’d put the past behind me, so why not hang out and shoot the shit like old friends? But before we met, I heard through Perry’s manager that the only reason he wanted to meet with me was to get me into the reunion. As usual, it’s always him and his thing. It was selfish, and I just don’t want to be around that kind of person or atmosphere anymore.”
