I mean, how could we not say that now that you’ve put that out there? I always thought “man, if they just decided to take 6 months to a year off after the first lolla and reconvened, we’d have had the proper follow up to RDLH and it would have been an awesome mix of the 1st P4P album and Deconstruction”.
After 2009 and now, I realize that this could never be a valid “what if?” hypothetical. They just can’t work together as a collective foursome.

The new democracy thing doesn't work for this group.

I really hate to say this, but it was probably not a great idea to push back against the dancers with so much on the line (i.e., first new OG album in over 30 years). Gotta pick and choose your battles.blackula wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:12 pmI always thought “man, if they just decided to take 6 months to a year off after the first lolla and reconvened, we’d have had the proper follow up to RDLH and it would have been an awesome mix of the 1st P4P album and Deconstruction”.

Although I 100% agree with them on principle, the dancers never ruined a show bc they stayed in one place and weren’t necessarily distracting.
Still though, fuck Perry for being such an unreasonable POS about it.

It’s hard not to think about Pete and Watt being able to make it work with Perry/Etty while Martyn/Dave/Eric could not. No one had any problems with the Porno tour minus Perry’sNoonesshocking wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 10:40 amI really hate to say this, but it was probably not a great idea to push back against the dancers with so much on the line (i.e., first new OG album in over 30 years). occasional performance issues. Pete had nothing negative to say about Etty. But he’s so good at adapting to people and finding common ground.

Yep. And especially considering the fact that the dancers are not a new battle - Eric talked at length about this during the Sonny interview. Almost a month on from Boston it's all really hard to understand.Hokahey wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 11:01 amIt’s hard not to think about Pete and Watt being able to make it work with Perry/Etty while Martyn/Dave/Eric could not. Re: So... What's next?
I noticed no one in terms of Perry or Etty has said anything about the neurology appt or anything like that and its been a month.
Re: So... What's next?
I think both Perry & Etty deserted the social networks since, didn't they ?

It's a bit of a shame that no one pushed his dancers idea further. Both women and men in Carnival costumes, on podiums and in cages in flamboyant costumes. Constant movement.
The dancers idea could have been massaged into something better.
I don't think think anyone has the patience anymore, though, and he probably wouldn't have listened, anyway.
Perry, stop blasting your mind to smithereens, you silly fucker. People love you, even if they're pissed off.
And I think people are a little hard on Etty. You need to remember what a wreck Perry was in the late nineties, hiding on his roof with a gun in case the baddies came for him, and nearly drowning in Tahiti. Etty offered an escape from that, even if the new drugs were only a palliative.
