Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
you gotta figure after all that time that they're almost there. I read the hard salary cap is the main issue. Until then, I guess I'll just play 2k12.
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
They should just get rid of some of the teams hell the Hornets don't even have an owner. If the owners can't figure out to stop spending money on the wrong players they should have their teams taken away from them. You pay superstars superstar money. There are many bad contracts not because of the CBA but because owners were stupid enough to sign players to those stupid contracts.
Owners also need to realize that the only reason people come to some of their games in those shit hole markets are because those superstars are coming to town. Mose superstars want to play in Chicago, LA, Dallas, Miami, Boston, NYC with the exception of some of the smaller markets that are able to get and keep talented players.
Also I find it funny that the Hornets left Charlotte for NOLA because they were losing money and then they put another team in Charlotte that is LOSING MONEY...

Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
Not sure what the answer is, but I think they need to partially emulate the NFL's sharing. They model everything else, so why not.
Competitive, small markety teams like Memphis are needed in this leauge. But when Memphis comes home they cant give away tix. Last year they ran a speacial for 4 tix, 4 sodas, 4 dogs, and parking for 40 bucks.....place was half full.
But when they play the Lakeshow in the playoffs, ratings are around a 14. Big money.

Oh, and go CELTICS
Fuck everyone else.
Fuck everyone else.
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
nba players have it made. they should model themselves after the nfl and not have guaranteed contracts. i would love to see a salary cap along with non guaranteed contracts.
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
The problem with the non guaranteed contracts is that some of the players want those contracts and not have to worry about it. But I agree with that. They should have every reason to play as hard as possible and knowing that they can get cut would be nice. As for a hard cap there will always be ways around it.
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
season over...

Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
i think so too

Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
Well billionaires v millionaires and a lot of those owners own NHL teams and they got what they wanted after canceling a whole season.
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
I have no pity for either side. Fucking whiners with their millions or billions each wanting a bigger piece of the pie. Oh well. Football is still around. This will really hurt the NBA and its future.
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
i have a hard time feeling sorry for the layers in this one...when they say things like "50/50 isn't really fair" you didn't build the league or show up with your millions and risk it all on a team...you don't own the buildings or the parking lots and when your career is over i doubt you will be sinking that money back into the game..so stfu already

Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
Agree and on the last deal 57/43 is NOT fair. The players need to realize that though there are options elsewhere in the world to go play that they will never get the kind of $$$ that they will get over here with those deals. But it is what it is and the players are losing the PR war BAD. So they can keep this up and end up with the worse situation than 50/50 because the longer this goes on, most of those players aside from the superstars are going to run out of money before the owners will.kv wrote:i have a hard time feeling sorry for the layers in this one...when they say things like "50/50 isn't really fair" you didn't build the league or show up with your millions and risk it all on a team...you don't own the buildings or the parking lots and when your career is over i doubt you will be sinking that money back into the game..so stfu already
Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
BOTTOM LINE 5 YEARS FROM NOW THE LEAGUE COULD BE REFILLED FROM COLLEGE AND PEOPLE WHO CROSS THE LINE...
IT'S ALL CAPS DAY I AM TOO LAZY TO TURN IT OFF

Re: NBA 2011/12(?)
The NBA knows they can just wait and refill, wonder if the players realize that?
