Re: NBA
1. Stop thinking
2. They sure as fuck needed him against the Clippers and the Rockets until he went down and Steph decided to take his turn.
Just listen to what Steph has to say about it

Re: NBA
I hope they can finish it tonight. I don't want to get my hopes up by being overly confident. It's going to be an exciting game for sure- biggest game in Raptors history! I'm sure all 37 million Canadians will be watching tonight too..
Guys like Lowry and Gasol know this is the last chance of their careers to get in a finals. I'm not positive about that, but they are getting older.
Fans lining up to gt into Jurrasic Park. This is from about 25 minutes ago...it is POURING rain now with thunder and lightning. No doubt it'll clear up soon with a big rainbow.
Re: NBA
Artemis,
You want to put a friendly wager on the series?
How about if the Warriors win you have to change your avatar to their logo and keep it for a month?
And you can pick whatever if the Raptors win. Cool?

Re: NBA
I'm not taking kv's advice and accepting your bet. If Raptors win, you change your logo and keep it for a month too.
Honestly, I do not expect the Raptors to beat the Warriors in a seven game series. I don't think it'll be a sweep, Raps will win a couple. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong and we surprise everybody. Wishful thinking, I know..
The fans wer really in a celebratory mood last night.
I haven't seen this level of excitement since th Blue Jays won the World Series.
I haven't watched any of the post-game shows yet. I wonder if salty, Skip Bayless, has let go of his KLAW hatred and acknowledged him by giving him props for an excellent series.
Re: NBA
It's no secret that Canadians are over the moon about their Toronto Raptors making the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history, but who'd have thought Americans would be rooting for the North (or at least rooting against Golden State) as well?
The popular, Panama-based online gambling platform BetOnline just released an analysis that suggests the majority of people in all but three U.S. States are hoping for Toronto to win this year's championship.
Using geotagged Twitter data and each team's most prominent fan hashtag — #WeTheNorth for The Raptors and #DubNation for The Warriors — BetOnline determined that support for The Raps outweighs support for their soon-to-be opponents in every state right now save for Nevada, Hawaii, and Golden State's home of California.
"The Golden State Warriors are going to their fifth-straight NBA Finals, which means America's Warriors fatigue and resulting hatred is about to get even worse," explains SFGATE's Eric Ting.
"It's hard to say from Twitter data why there is so much more excitement surrounding the Raptors," he continues, "but it's not too surprising that the nation would like to see someone other than the Warriors win the title."
Fair enough, but the far-reaching impact of Raptors hype shouldn't be discounted. Their de facto mascot is, after all, the biggest recording artist in the world.
Star forward Kawhi Leonard, himself a California native, is also drawing much attention and praise for his stellar playoffs performance with some analysts going so far as to call him the most important player in this year's NBA Finals — yes, even more important than Steph Curry and Kevin Durant.
Game 1 of the Raptors vs. Warriors series in Toronto on Thursday night will furthermore be the first-ever NBA Finals game played outside of the U.S., which is huge.
Will Toronto break Golden State's reign over the NBA after two consecutive championships? Hard to say, but Canadians certainly aren't alone in hoping so.
Re: NBA
"Geotagged Twitter Data"
That sounds really scientific
So they based their entire story off of .... Hashtags?

Re: NBA
Yeah, it's a little dubious.
Seems to be the sentiment of many, but I don't think as much as the article claims.
Re: NBA
It's a very exciting day here in the "6" . I'm really looking forward to the game tonight...9pm can't get here fast enough!
I mentioned on Facebook that I was lurking around the St Regis Hotel where the Warriors are staying, but I didn't see anybody except for Adam Silver. I'm not certain it was him, but pretty sure it was.
I had an appointment downtown this morning and took a few snaps..
A mural that went up last night on Quen St W. If you look closely, above Pascal Siakam's shoulder, Drake is massaging Nick Nurse..
This is down by Jurrasic Park where all the media trucks are set up. The fans line up on the otherside. People were already lined up to get in since very early this morning.
Crater, good luck to both our teams. I think it will be a great series. Also, a nice change from Cleveland and LeBron James.
