http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episode-1 ... ry-farrellPerry Farrell is the creative force behind Jane’s Addiction, Porno for Pyros, and the Lollapalooza festival, but while talking with Marc, it’s clear a lot of Perry's focus these days is on being a dad. Perry sees the parallels in how he was angry at his family as a teenager and how his relationship with his own teenage son is evolving. Also, Perry’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, gets on the mic with him to talk about their collaborative project Kind Heaven, which is an album, a community event and, they hope, much more.
On Thursday Perry Farrell hangs out at my house and we have a loopy chat. He’s a strangely happy, loopy dude.

Unfortunately Etty is on too (just a bit), to talk about Kind Heaven.
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
When I saw that Marc posted this on Twitter, my first thought was "I wonder if Etty was there"
Was she?
Was she?
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
at the end. It was actually a very entertaining interview.
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
As entertaining as The Gathering of the Vibes?
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
Pretty great interview, talks about Casey ( he won’t mention her name ), kinda wild.
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
I’m nlt sure a Las Vegas show with tickets for probably $100 a pop can be called “a community event.”
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
and hopefully my review will start with, "Perry was on fire"!
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
Im sure it will
have fun

Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
I actually enjoyed it very much. Perry just being Perry, humming and singing with Marc while Etty was getting into the room. Honestly, she makes me laugh.
I like this podcast because guests get very casual talking about their background.

First post in a long time!
I'm a regular listener of this podcast, mainly because he gets people to really open up about their lives, their past, and what makes them tick. He gets guests to self-reflect. You get to know the "authentic" person.
Compared to Marc's other interviews, Perry comes across as being a bit superficial or fake.
It totally goes off the rails when Etty comes on. Perry really needs to nail down a few key messages to describe what the whole immersive theater thing is...because it's really not clear when he describes it. Marc mentioned he still didn't understand what it was in his intro, which was taped afterwards.

In the interview Perry said that he and Etty(said the way Perry pronounces it) and the kids spent a couple of years in Hong Kong...when was that??
Overall, I enjoyed the interview but didn't gain a better understanding of what the Kind Heaven immersive experience is all about. So, during a performance there might be a juggler to entertain you while in the bar line up??
Other than trying to sound like a snob, Etty was okay in this interview, I didn't cringe except at the idea of them bringing their dogs on tour. I guess the assistant will be caring for them.

i know his kids did. i didn't know it was two years. he just didn't want to sound like an awful parent that shipped his young kids away i guess.

Hey, what's wrong with doggies going on tour? but yeah, probably the assistant.
I thought Perry was very enthusiastic with his story telling (I could keep listening to his wild, cuckoo stories), but I thought he was kinda somber when he talked or more like confirmed his non existent relationship with Yobel. He must be more than 20 nowadays, right?
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
Yes, I felt sad for him when he was asked about Yobel.perkana wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 1:42 pmI understood actors and dancers will be involved, too.Artemis wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 5:16 am

With regards to dogs on tour...I love dogs but taking them on a tour seems like it would be disruptive to their normal routine. Not all hotels are dog friendly, plus travelling on a plane could be difficult too. I guess it depends on the disposition of the dogs.
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
Yeah, PF's output, surgery, IG posts with Italian cars, and nudes of mom are beyond my understanding, but his separation from a child is pretty vulgar. As a dad, and one who's failed miserably at times, I just can't get past this.
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
What's the story? Between Perry and Yobel?
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
There is none
The end

Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
Yobel had a song written about him:
Listening to "Our Song" from the new album you realise how well Farrell has learnt to do this. The track's title acknowledges a happier bond, namely that between the singer and his two-year-old son, Yobel.
"I was with Yobel one day", says Farrell, "and even though he was just a few months old, I noticed that he was responding to this giddy, happy Stephane Grappelli music. My eyes were opened. You don't have to go very far to see pain, sorrow and agony, so I don't need that angry, pro-wrestler thing in my music any more. I still use strong sounds, but I try to make them reflect what's joyful, funny, deep, preposterous or... sexy, maybe. After that I start to filter things out."
Re: Perry Farrell on WTF with Marc Maron
Our Song was a really great track.
